This Eldritch Machine will send a surge of positive energy backwards in time via Xoriat, resurrecting the Couatl at the precise moment of their sacrifice and preventing the Silver Flame from ever being created. Such an undertaking would risk exposing your Rakshasa's schemes to a certain band of adventurers, so maybe use this as your low-level plot hook: Cults of the Dragon Below are rising up en masse and working to break enough planar seals to let energy from Xoriat seep into the Material Plane, someone should stop them! This is where it gets particularly tricky, because courtesy of the Gatekeeper Druids Xoriat cannot become coterminous unless the dimensional seals binding the Daelkyr are broken. Perhaps they're manipulating a Councilor? Of course, such a planar conjuction could occur anywhere, maybe one of the scholars at Arcanix could help you predict it? Or perhaps a dragon of the Chamber. If so, consider how your Lord of Dust is avoiding detection by the Undying Court. A region with both Mabaran and Irian manifest zones is certainly rare, though you may be able to locate such a place in Aerenal. You'll also want a Mabaran manifest zone, and again I'll explain why in a moment. The manifest zone ensures you have access to ample positive energy. You'll need to harness the outflow of life from Irian for reasons I'll explain in a moment. The machine should be built in an Irian manifest zone while Irian is coterminous. then those pesky heroes could do your hard work for you. Perhaps if someone the party trusts could be manipulated into sending them on a mining expedition. These will be used as a binding agent, and can be procured through the usual channels. Khyber dragonshards, again in significant volume. If your Lord of Dust villain has a contact in the Aurum or the Twelve, he can surely pull some strings to get the required materials. These will serve as the focus of the Eldritch Machine's power. At the bare minimum, they will need:ДЄ substantial number of Siberys dragonshards of exceptional purity. They may be building this machine themselves, manipulating someone into building it for them, or perhaps they're merely restoring an ancient relic from the Age of Demons. Your villain is going to need access to some sort of Eldritch Machine, and they're going to want a variety of rare reagents and planar conditions to operate it.
